The Barry D. Jackson Jr. Foundation recognized four students and an educator for this school year.

Nytavis Beco, MaKyah Landheart, Shelbey Porche and Ja’layia Zeno, all of Livonia High School, were recognized.

This year’s mentor award went to James Sinclair of the STEM Magnet Academy of Pointe Coupee.

The Barry D. Jackson Jr. Foundation is a non-profit organization with the mission is to promote and acknowledge self-confidence while encouraging and empowering the youth of the impaired community that all things are possible with faith, love, dedication and determination.

The foundation also would like to thank its donators this year, Cherie Armstead, of New Roads, and Renee Smith, of Maringouin.

The foundation founders include Turkessa and Barry Jackson Sr., Barry D. Jackson Jr. and Donovan Robertson.
