Two workshops – one for children, another for adults – are being offered Saturday, June 12, during the 11th Annual Treasures of Pointe Coupee Exhibit.
Registration is required. Contact Gale Roy at (225) 718-1574 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Ronnie Collins, a south Louisiana artist, will direct an acrylic painting workshop for adults from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
During the pandemic, Ronnie provided a series of online workshops “One O’clock Wednesday.”
The second workshop, “Columbian Mola,” will be led by Zachary art teacher Darryl Alello from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
Participants will learn how to create a paper version of a Mola by cutting out animals and shapes using construction paper.
Original Molas are a hand-made textile that is part of the traditional women’s clothing of the Kuna Indians of Panama and Colombia.
