We were chosen for such a time as this- to live in this world, in this century, on this day, and at this very hour. God chose us, and, obviously, we gladly accepted His offer. So, here we are, in this epoch, living in the divine disruption. The world is holding its breath for what might come next. Let’s pray when we exhale, that each person will release revival; the healing words of Jesus Christ, for as He is our Comforter, our Shelter, and He will give us rest.
Below are the restorative words Jesus spoke, as each verse is verified, and inscribed in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John:
* “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:28-30).
* “Come with Me, by yourselves, to a quiet place and get some rest” (Mark 6:31).
* “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on” (Luke 12:22).
* “I leave you peace. It is my own peace I give you. I give you peace in a different way than the world does. So don’t be troubled. Don’t be afraid” (John 14:27).
Locally, Louisiana endured an unprecedented catastrophe named Katrina. Other countries withstood tsunamis and famines. Worldwide, we suffered through WW1, WW2, the Great Depression, and the horror of the Holocaust. If one of these cataclysms touched our life or a loved one, it changed us forever. We are marked at that moment in time, yet time continues. How we physically and spiritually heal from that moment depends on how we learn to rest, and in whose arms we trust to rest in. If we choose to rest in the arms of Jesus, then “we know that in all things God works for good.”
Choose to rest in what is generously given from the Lord, like His Word, His love, and His salvation. Rest in the free things He’s provided on earth, as well. Step outside and delight in the fresh air He gives. Go for a walk or a bike ride. The air is free! Listen to nature, for the birds and the songs that they sing are free. Rest by a pond or waterway and discover the living nature within. Wake up at daybreak and watch a beautiful sunrise, and bask in each ray of sunshine! Enjoy the beauty when the day ends and the vast colors that a sunset brings. God freely gives everything for us to experience and now is the time to learn resilience in it!
At home, turn off all noise which cause you stress; instead, turn on music in which you can rest. Make a playlist of artists that create an atmosphere of peace in your home. Add Jason Upton’s songs, such as, ‘In Your Presence,’ ‘You Are Holy,’ and ‘Home to Me.’ Listen to Kari Jobe’s newest YouTube song, ‘The Blessing with Kari Jobe & Cody Carnes, Live From Elevation Ballantyne, Elevation Worship.’ If resting means only instrument music, then start a new playlist. Search YouTube for ‘3 hours//instrumental soaking worship//Bethel music harmony,’ or Rick Pino’s instrumental song, ‘By My Spirit.’
The Lord says, “When you seek Me, you will find Me.” Jesus is waiting for you to relax in His arms of love. Find rest in His presence today.
Until next week, have a blessed day, and thank you for sharing life with Sharlotte!
