NEW ROADS -- An autopsy report revealed the identification of the body discovered along the Mississippi River near Ventress on Saturday, July 24. 

The body has been identified as 34-year-old Matthew Thomas of Baton Rouge, according to Pointe Coupee Parish Sheriff Rene Thibodeaux.

No foul play is suspected at this time, according to the examiner's report from the autopsy conducted by the East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner's Office. 

Thomas's body was found between two barges that were tied alongside the river, Thibodeaux said.
