Two local teenagers were taken into custody Wednesday morning for their alleged involvement in a string of burglaries on the south end of the parish.

Deputies arrested Garrett Graffia, 18, and a juvenile around 9:50 a.m. in the Iberville Parish community of Ramah, according to Lt. Craig Dababie of the Pointe Coupee Parish Sheriff’s Office.

The burglaries took place in Torbert and the Pointe Coupee Parish portion of Maringouin during the past several days, he said.

The two allegedly broke into homes and stole numerous items, Dabadie said.

They face charges of burglary, unauthorized use of a movable, theft by fraud, identity theft and misdemeanor theft.

The case remains under investigation.

The investigation could lead to additional arrests, according to Dabadie.

Anyone with additional information on the burglaries should contact the Pointe Coupee Parish Sheriff’s Office at (225) 694-3737.
