PATRIOTIC WELCOME | Town of Livonia adds flag to "Welcome Sign" area

Livonia Mayor Rhett Pourciau presides over a ceremony Sept. 28 for a flag and flagpole which now standalone alongside the “Welcome to Livonia” signage the town installed in July alongside the eastbound side of U.S. 190 on La. 76.  The flag serves as an honor to the men and women who have served America. Council members J. Terry Jarreau, Greg Jarreau and Warren Pourciau attended, along with Chief of Police Brad Joffrion, Town Clerk Donna Bergeron. Also attending the event were Pointe Coupee Parish President Major Thibaut, Sheriff Bud Torres and a host military veterans. Li-vonia-based LeMay Group, contractor for the signs, also attended the event along McKnight Lanscape Architects of Baton Rouges.
