Jambalaya plate lunches will be sold from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, at the Livonia Community Center to benefit Colbi “Coco” Bonaventure.
In 2020, Colbi was diagnosed with a life-threatening disease, POLG. In September, doctors determined she needed a liver transplant, which she received in October.
Due to other issues and to keep her new liver, Colbi has undergone seven more surgeries, and more are expected.
Cost of the lunch is $10 a plate. Tickets can be purchased from Theresa Bonaventure, (225) 718-0450, or J. Landry, (225) 718-5758.
Businesses can place group orders for pickup or delivery.
Volunteers interested in helping cook, package and deliver meals can contact Landry.
An account also has been set up at People’s Bank for donations under “Colbi ‘Coco’ Bonaventure Fundraiser.”
