Michael Edward “Mickey” Gaudet passed on December 31, 2020. He was a native of Plaquemine and resident of Maringouin. He was a retired Deputy with Iberville Parish Sheriff’s office with 34 years of service and a retired bus driver with Iberville Parish School Board for many years. He also served as Fire Chief for Maringouin Volunteer Fire Department for 33 years before his retirement. He was preceded in death by his father Edward Joseph Gaudet, mother Betty Jean Matthews Gaudet Comeaux, sister Jackie Williams and nephew Edward Gaudet. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Julie Bossom Gaudet, two sons Derek and Miles Gaudet of Rosedale; a daughter Megan “Tori” Gaudet-Reed and husband Carl Reed, Jr. of Grosse Tete; a sister Rebecca “Becky” Davis; 2 brothers Robert “Bobby” Gaudet and wife Janice, Randall “Randy” Gaudet and wife Toni. 7 grandchildren Austin Genusa, Kailtyn Genusa, Harley Gaudet, Espen Gaudet, Ethan Gaudet, Caleb Gaudet, and CJ Meshell; numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Bobby Gaudet, Randy Gaudet, Sam Robinson, Christopher Couty, Austin Genusa, and Terrance Davis. Visitation was Monday, January 4. 2021 9:00 am until religious services at 11:30 am A. Wesley Funeral Home 10820 Ventress Drive Maringouin; Conducted by Pastor Wayne Romig; Interment Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Cemetery, Maringouin.
