Perry Glenn Gustin, a native and resident of Morganza, La, passed away on July 25, 2021 at the age of 77. Perry worked as a foreman at The Morganza Control Structure for the Corps of Engineers for 19 years before retiring and continuing his work as a farmer. Perry was proud of the fact that during the Flood Fight of 1973, he was one of the men to open the flood gates of the Morganza Control Structure. He worked as a farmer for majority of his life and can be remembered working on the farm as early as his early adolescent years. Perry was semi-retired for the past 2 years and began to devote his time to his pecan orchard. When not spending his time on the farm, he enjoyed riding on the farm in his Kabota. He loved riding in his Kabota with his beloved dog, Angel. Perry is survived by his wife of 45 years, Debbie Glynn Gustin; daughter, Julie Lynn Gustin; son, Carl Joseph “C.J.” Gustin (Jamie Allison); many beloved family and friends, and loving cousin Myrna Tuminello. He is preceded in death by his parents, Muriel D. Gustin and Carl J. Gustin. Honorary pallbearers are Fay Rock Gustin, Danny Gustin, Michael Strain, Bruce Michel, and J.R. Tuminello. A visitation will be held at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Morganza on Saturday, July 31, 2021 from 3:00pm until the Memorial service at 5:00 pm. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Mary’s Episcopal Church of Morganza, La for the lawn service fund. Special thanks to Vonda Gustin Wiley, Acadian Ambulance, Morganza First Responders, Pointe Coupee General Hospital for their assistance.
