Perkins

Beloved Sally Jeanpierre Perkins was born on August 10, 1934, a blessing to Gertrude Modeliste and Paul Jeanpierre, Sr. , and passed away March 6, 2020. She was a life-long resident of New Roads, Louisiana, where she was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. She attended Rosenwald High School and graduated in 1955. On December 26, 1966, she married her lifelong love, James Louis (Peter) Perkins. This marriage was blessed with one daughter, Angela, the joy of her life.  For several years our beloved worked as a Press Machine Operator at Scotts Dry Cleaners.  Later she decided to become a homemaker and focused on taking care of her family.  Her beautiful warm smile welcomed family members, friends and all those she met. Her special talents were cooking and gardening. She was often referred to as having the ‘green thumb’ of the family. She could grow anything that was green and turn seeds into beautiful flower gardens.  Her gift for cooking cakes and candies were prized by neighbors, family and friends. Her pecan candy recipe was the most celebrated. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who embraced and supported her family and friends with an abundance of love, guidance, kindness and much laughter. Because of her generous spirit and pleasant personality, many loved her.
