Kathryn 'Katie' Springstead, a resident of New Roads, passed away peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, May 9, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. She was 41 years old. Katie was a loving sister, daughter, aunt, partner and friend. She was devoted to playing an active role in animal rescue, particularly with cats. Katie had a wonderful heart and will truly be missed. She is preceded in death by her parents, Pat Berthier Springstead and Frank Springstead. She is survived by her sister Connie Monnier and brothers Scott Leslie Springstead, Jason Patrick Springstead and Scott Henry Springstead, along with her nieces and her partner Ismael Peralta. The family would like to give sincere thanks to all the doctors and staff who took care of Katie at the Baton Rouge general, Pointe Coupee General and Pointe Coupee Homebound Health and Hospice. Per Katie's wishes, a celebration of her life amongst her family members will take place at a date to be determined. In Lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made to Pointe Coupee Homebound Health and Hospice of New Roads.
