The purpose of this letter is to provide you with information on this millage’s proposal.

It’s a funny thing how in this business of news, news reporting and newspapers that when someone calls it an end to a career or an endeavor, we think back to the first time we met that person. That occurred to this writer this weekend after it was announced Friday that Catholic High School coach Pete Boudreaux is retiring at the end of the school year.

The past 39 years of my life have revolved around writing, but I’ve had one other fascination that could put me on another path in life. I was fascinated with music, largely because my father, Clarence “Bubby” Dupont and his brothers Darryl and Bernie Cheek formed a band called “The Goldentones” while they were in grade school.
